The Oral Language and Writing Programme.ppt

Writing occurs in many forms throughout the school week, but writing may not appear in their writing book each day.  Forms of writing that take place are:
* Scribed writing: where students explain their ideas to an adult who records them.
* Shared writing: students co-construct a text about a commonly shared experiences, such as
   a Toy Hunt in the Community Forest.
* Writing with a peer: two students with a similar need write a text together or a peer who has
   accomplished a skill assists a student developing this skill.
* Guided Writing: with the teacher within a group of students with similar needs.
* Modeled Writing: the writing process is modeled to students and models of great writing
  are explored. 
* Individual Writing: individual goals are set for students to achieve when writing in their
  books.
