The Reading Programme

   
  Our reading programme includes library, reading to, shared reading and guided reading.      
       *Library day is Thursday. Books need to be brought back each week. One fiction and one non-fiction text is chosen.
*Reading to children, daily at home and school provides great role modelling and encourages students to enjoy the
 process of reading.
*Shared Reading,  occurs daily in the form of big books, shared texts and poetry.
*Guided Reading occurs Monday to Thursday in small groups for students working at levels Magenta, Red, Blue,
 Green and Orange. Once at levels Turquoise, Purple and Gold reading takes place twice weekly.
