Making a Film is not easy! Room 11 visited the Auckland History Museum to choose an object which has had a purpose/function for many years and not changed over many years. We had to create a film which included the object and its history. This was a very challenging task but we got there!! We studied the structure of stories and also explored what made exciting stories. We found out that characters were hugely important to the excitement of a story and create some characters to be used in our stories. We created Jack Shepherd (geeky, smart and a wimp), Charlotte Smith (fashionable, strong and fearless) and Xavier Darkwood (see above). Whilst studying stories we realised to create an authentic story we had to know our object really well. We researched its history and studied its effect on our lives. This was hard! We started by creating some questions to guide our research and used the internet to help answer them. Bad move! It was really difficult and frustrating. We eventually used the library and had so more success but it was a long and demading process. Now we knew our object well we created some exciting stories which we turned into scripts which was then turned into storyboards to be filmed. Phew! The fun stuff! We started filming with props and organised locations.
